In an attempt to nurture the state's start-up ecosystem and fulfil the objectives of 'The AtmaNirbhar Madhya Pradesh Roadmap 2023,'  the Madhya Pradesh (MP) government launched the 'MP Start-Up Policy and Implementation Scheme 2022,' last year. The initiative aims to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation and achieve the leadership position for the state in the 'Start-Ups Ranking' in India.

To enable initiatives including a single-window agency for start-ups and incubators, the government established 'MP Start-Up Centre (MPSC)', which has provided monetary assistance of Rs 20 to Rs 25 lakh to 21 start-ups. Additionally, the body has helped founders to promote their products and services to international and domestic clientele.

The MP government plans to invest Rs 10 crore in five Indian alternative investment funds (AIF), which are expected to provide financial assistance to state-grown enterprises. Apart from that, the administration will provide special allowances, going up to Rs 60 lakh, to start-ups.

To give an impetus to women founders, the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led state government has decided to also deliver additional benefits to start-ups with women founders.

There is more on the state government's agenda. It is planning to organise the 'Invest Madhya Pradesh-Global Investors Summit 2023' on January 11 and 12 in 2023, with sessions that will discuss the administrative's policies and schemes to give the start-up sector a leg-up. Apart from that, a panel discussion on 'A Start-Up's Journey-- Seed to Unicorn and Beyond' will also be held to assist start-up founders scale their business.
