Uttar Pradesh is preparing to gift the first AI city to the country. A detailed action plan has been prepared to establish AI City, implementing which UP Electronics Corporation Limited (UPLC) has started the process.

The Uttar Pradesh Government has approved for the development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) City in the Nadarganj Industrial Area of Lucknow.

UPLC has invited applications through the expression of interest from real estate developer companies and agencies for the design, development, and operation of the city under the “UP Electronics Manufacturing Policy (UPEMP)”.

This project will pave the way for the construction of Grade-A certified commercial space, state-of-the-art data centres, Grade-A flexible workplaces, and tech labs for IT companies. At the same time, the way will be paved for the construction of many world-class amenities including luxury and affordable housing residential complexes, recreation areas, and green areas along commercial spaces.

The IT and Electronics Department has identified potential land parcels for the development of AI City at prime locations in Lucknow. In this sequence, a 40-acre land parcel owned by the Department of IT and Electronics has been identified as a potential development site for AI City.

The proposed place is located at a distance of approximately 3 kilometers from Lucknow International Airport. The land area is accessible via a two-lane road and is currently completely fenced.

As per the reports, developers will receive 40 acres of land in the prime location of Nadarganj industrial area for the project. The government will extend the support for land acquisition and obtaining necessary approvals. Financial assistance, including attractive incentives, will be offered to developers.

Key incentives comprise one-time capital expenditure support, ranging from 25 percent to Rs 20 crore for IT Park and up to Rs 100 crore for IT City.
