Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM), a non-profit organization aiming to scale the city's tech ecosystem, has announced the inaugural edition of MumbaiHacks. Aimed at promoting creativity, collaboration and innovation amongst the city's startup community, the two-day event with a total build duration of 22 hours will kick off on 3rd June at WeWork in Andheri.  

The event will provide a platform for individuals to showcase their skills, solve real-world problems and contribute to the growth of Mumbai's startup landscape. Hackathons offer participants exposure, recognition and networking opportunities while encouraging teamwork and community building.  

MumbaiHacks is open to working professionals, including engineers, product specialists and designers. At the no-fee event, participants will be offered to build solutions around the themes like generative AI, cybersecurity or 'Solve for Mumbai'.

The 'Solve for Mumbai' track nudges tech enthusiasts and problem solvers to develop innovative solutions for various issues and concerns plaguing the city to positively impact its residents and infrastructure. It requires leveraging emerging technologies and considering the diverse needs of Mumbai's residents while designing solutions.

On the first day, registrations and starter workshops will occur from 12 noon until 2 pm. The subsequent 22-hour build time will allow participants to develop their ideas with guidance from senior engineers and CTOs. On the second day, shortlisting will occur, followed by a panel discussion on the Mumbai tech scene and solution presentations by the top 15 teams. 

The diverse panel of judges includes Neeraj Roy, CEO and founder of Hungama; Amit Kumar Gupta, CTO of Rebel Foods, Aakash Kumar, principal of Matrix Partners India, Vivek Khemani, Co-founder of Quantiphi; Dharmesh Vaya, Solutions Architect at Prisma Cloud and Aakrit Vaish, co-founder and CEO, Jio Haptik. The judges will assess the final presentations of the top 15 teams and determine the winners. Each track's winner across all three themes will receive Rs 1 lakh as prize money.

35 tech startup founders came together to form TEAM. They are from entities like Nykaa, Pharmeasy, Upgrad, Upstox, Good Glamm Group, Zepto, Pepperfry, Infibeam Avenues, Pine Labs, BillDesk, Clevertap, Loginext, Rebel Foods and Purplle.
