HaiVE.Tech will set up India’s first AI lab at St. Joseph College of Engineering in Chennai, in a bid to foster global innovation and growth in this emerging technology. This initiative will be carried out in collaboration with its edtech partner, Terv.
The facility will have a laboratory setup in a 32,000 square feet area and will be equipped with 10Gbps connectivity. It will also house dedicated on-premise AI servers with A-100 cards to enable faster turnaround times and facilitate a swift flow of innovations.
Partnering with St. Joseph College will offer start-ups access to a skilled talent pool having short-term interns and long-term Ph.D. researchers who will receive the opportunity to be absorbed as employees.
Deepika Loganathan, co-founder and CEO of HaiVE.Tech thanked Meyyappan Natarajan, CEO of Terv and Dr. B Babu Manoharan, chairman of St Joseph College of Engineering, for making this dream a reality.
“As a core AI start-up, we faced a lot of issues with seamless hardware access, and once we got to a place where we could work with similar-minded partners, we set out to create this accelerator. It will birth an ecosystem of AI start-ups in Tamil Nadu”, she said.

HaiVE is an on-premise AI research and development firm operating out of Singapore, India and Australia. They are working with the local governments of Tamil Nadu and New South Wales to create an AI standards body for their respective governments. In May 2023, the on-premise AI solutions provider raised $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Mohan K, founder and chief executive officer of IppoPay Technologies.
