Swiggy Launches Skills Academy For Delivery Partners, Their Families

The online food aggregator Swiggy has partnered with Khan Academy, a non-governmental organization to launch Swiggy Skills Academy for delivery partners in order to provide educational support as well as development and growth opportunities, for the children of these delivery partners. The food aggregator has also partnered with Google to use its speech-based reading tool in order to improve the reading skills of the children. The Academy offers certificates after the completion of various courses. 

The company said in a statement, “The findings showed that aspirations range from acquiring skills that will help them perform their current roles better, take on new roles at Swiggy, earn the respect of friends and family, and prepare them for opportunities beyond Swiggy.”

According to a report by The Economic Times, the courses that are being offered in the Academy are categorized under three pillars namely Skills for All, Skills for Children, and Skills for Life. The courses under Skills for All include spoken English, time management, hygiene and dressing, computer use, personal finance, and mental well-being amongst others.

Skills for Children offer career counseling for children of all age group and online educational content. Under Skills for Life, the Academy has collaborated with educational institutes and universities to aid executives and children complete matriculation, intermediate schooling, and higher education.
