Payments and financial services technology company, Fiserv has appointed Murali Nair as general manager of India and South Asia.

He will oversee all aspects of the Fiserv client franchise in India and across South Asia, driving the delivery of innovative banking and payment solutions used by financial institutions, merchants and consumers in these markets, the company said in a statement.

With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, with broad expertise spanning banking, payments and technology, he has led strategic partnerships at CRED, one of India’s leading fintechs.

He was previously president of banking for India at Zeta and has held leadership positions in client relationship management at Visa and market development at Mastercard, and oversaw credit card programs at Citibank, Deutsche Bank, and Barclays Bank.

"Murali brings great perspective and experience to the Fiserv business in India and across South Asia, which remains an important growth market for Fiserv," said Ivo Distelbrink, EVP and Head of Asia Pacific at Fiserv.

Fiserv is a significant player in India's financial technology sector, specialising in merchant acquiring and payment processing. It provides essential banking and digital solutions to financial institutions and fintech companies.

Fiserv enables merchants to accept various payment methods across multiple channels, including in-store, mobile apps, and online platforms, facilitating global omnichannel commerce.
