The partnerships will entail the setting up of BrightCHAMPS Next-Gen Labs within schools and training its teachers in the curriculum by industry experts and vetted by self-regulatory board called the BrightCHAMPS Global Curriculum Advisory Board
Edtech start-up, BrightCHAMPS, has announced that it has acquired ISB-incubated Metamorphosis Edu with an aim to ensure quality-driven compliance in schools across the country.
With a growing need for an expert-ratified curriculum in next-gen skills, Metamorphosis Edu has been bridging this gap for schools on the subject of entrepreneurship since its inception in 2020. With the company’s acquisition by BrightCHAMPS in a cash and stock deal, Metamorphosis founder Pavan Allena will lead BrightCHAMPS’s B2B vertical under CFO (chief financial officer) Amit Kumar to enable NEP (National Education Policy)-compliance for schools across all the four next-gen life-skills the company offers, said the company.
“Our mission is to empower the world’s 2 billion kids with world-class learning opportunities in crucial life skills. We’re thrilled that the Indian government is recognising the value of next-gen life skills in ensuring fulfilled futures for all our kids, irrespective of their socioeconomic status or geographical constraints. We want to support these visionary efforts, and Metamorphosis is the perfect partner to help us achieve this goal of substantially widening access to our curriculum at lower price points through partnerships with schools. We’re confident that this acquisition will help both teams achieve great things," said BrightCHAMPS founder and CEO (chief executive officer), Ravi Bhushan.
The partnerships will entail the setting up of BrightCHAMPS Next-Gen Labs within schools and training its teachers in the curriculum by industry experts and vetted by self-regulatory board called the BrightCHAMPS Global Curriculum Advisory Board. While Metamorphosis has so far focussed on setting up entrepreneurship cells in schools to teach its courses, as the B2B arm of BrightCHAMPS the focus will shift to 360-degree 21st-century skill learning.
“We’re excited to be a part of the growing BrightCHAMPS family and its mission. With the might of the 3,000-people-strong BrightCHAMPS team thrown behind us, we will be able to cater to school requirements based on different learning needs faster, at scale, and more cost-effectively. All of which will accelerate access, which is the ultimate goal,” added Metamorphosis founder Pavan Allena.
Both the NEP and NILP place immense importance on the need for today’s learners to be equipped with critical life skills such as financial, digital, tech, communication, entrepreneurial and vocational skills to help them keep pace with a rapidly changing tech-first world. Financial literacy and knowledge about money have become an increasingly important agenda for state education boards, led by CBSE and CISCE, and in 2022, all but three boards within the country agreed to include a financial literacy programme developed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
