Kidbea raises Rs 1.5 crore from Agility Ventures in a pre-seed funding round

The promoters intend to use the capital to boost marketing efforts, expand their team and improve R&D activities within the Indian kidswear market

Kidbea, a Noida-based sustainable kidswear brand, has secured a pre-seed funding round of Rs. 1.5 crores. This round was led by Agility Ventures, along with individual investors including Nandi Mehta, the chief financial officer of Kaaf Funds, Tapas Sahu, chairman of CII Jharkhand, Divij Bajaj, founder of Power Gummies, Abhishek Kocchar, founder of Diamond Overseas and Vivekananda Nareddula, founder of Apaizer.

The founders intend to use the funds to boost marketing efforts, expand the team, and improve R&D activities within the Indian kidswear market.

Founded in 2021 by Swapnil Srivastav, Mohammed Hussain, and Aman Kumar Mahto, Kidbea makes certified organic kidswear with patented spill-proof and fragrance technology. This year, it has raised two rounds of funds, including one from angel investors. 

Commenting on the funding round, Dhianu Das, co-founder of Agility Ventures, said, "Kidswear has the highest growth potential in India. With the help of its highly experienced team in kidswear and advisors in fashion, marketing, and production, the start-up can reach a large market share."

Swapnil Srivastav, the founder of Kidbea, added, "As a direct-to-consumer brand's founder, I believe we should understand our customers' needs rather than following tips and tricks since these will ultimately fail. However, what will remain constant is how well your consumers understand your product. So, at Kidbea, we focus on building a long-term relationship with our consumers to understand better what they want and how we can improve every day."

The promoters personally interact with consumers every Friday to ensure they get the company's best experience. This is in a bid to increase customer retention and brand loyalty.

Aman Kumar Mahto, the start-up's co-founder, added that Kidbea would launch designer Indian ethnic kidswear in the next two years. "We will also onboard top Indian fashion designers to make Kidbea among India's top three kidswear brands," he claimed.
