In an attempt to strengthen its offline presence, travel tech unicorn EaseMyTrip has opened its franchise brand 'EaseMyTrip Franchise. Through this latest development, the company is aiming to boost the number of walk-in customers (offline customers).

In a statement, the company claimed that the newly-launched franchise would provide a commission structure on all transactions. Additionally, it will have a support centre that will work 24*7 to address queries and deliver live training on products and business growth.

Set up in 2008 by Nishant Pitti, Prashant Pitti and Rikant Pitti, the company claims to cater to an over $11 million customer base. Additionally, it has a network of 61,000 travel agents.

According to Tracxn data, the company has bagged $31.5 million since its inception. Its latest funding came on the second of August  2022, after its IPO.

The company witnessed a four per cent drop in the year-on-year (Y-oY) net profit in the second quarter of the financial year (FY) 28.2 crore. However, it witnessed a 120.9 per cent increase in the operating revenue to Rs 1,977.7 crore compared to Rs 895.1 crore in the same quarter last year.

Talking about the latest development, Rikant Pitti, the co-founder, said, “EaseMyTrip franchise model is born with a simple idea of catering to different sets of customers who like to be assisted face-to-face and are not internet savvy. With the EaseMyTrip Franchise, our focus is to provide a meet-and-greet experience. This will help the brand with trust and brand building through offline personnel support and demonstrations of products and services to customers.”
