Boon, the IoT-enabled water-tech start-up, is partnering with Andaz Delhi - a luxury lifestyle hotel by Hyatt, to phase out single-use plastic water bottles and significantly reduce the carbon footprint across hotel rooms and premises.

The new collaboration between Boon and Andaz Delhi, AeroCity, a 5-Star luxury lifestyle hotel is expected to enhance the overall guest experience while reducing its carbon footprint.

Andaz Delhi has claimed to adhere to a large variety of green practices in the past. They also possess the Leeds Gold Level Certification for their conscious electricity usage. Over the next five years, Andaz Delhi has been projected to showcase the reduction of 83,277 kgs of plastic waste annually. Added to that are reductions of 249,831 kgs of CO₂ emissions, as well as reductions of 1474.7 Barrels of Oil.

Boon claims to specialise in monitoring water quality and hydration delivery through the concept of the circular economy of glass water. Through the utilization of Artificial Intelligence and The Internet of Things (IoT), purified drinking water is dispensed in sustainable glass bottles.

Sharing her views on the partnership, Vibha Tripathi, founder and MD of Boon, said, “We, at Boon, have been firm believers in acting against the use of single-use plastic, and reduction in energy consumption and waste management. Our collaboration with Andaz Delhi bolsters our ability to double down on providing clean water in sustainable glass bottles. As the debate around climate change and carbon emissions gets louder by the minute, we feel our partnership with Andaz Delhi can go on to do great things for the planet.”

Commenting on the occasion, Anum Ajani, Marketing Communications Manager, Andaz Hotel, added, “The team at Andaz Delhi has always been committed to reducing the use of single-use plastics across our hotel and our new alliance with Boon is another step in that direction. We have undertaken many initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint, whether through conscious electricity use or through energy-efficient LED lights. The new partnership is yet another milestone achieved in the roadmap towards sustainability and fighting plastic wastage globally.”

Boon (formerly known as Swajal) has been busy forming strategic partnerships with multiple institutions to launch its smart hydration system, WaterCube, which revolutionizes drinking water quality. It has recently partnered with Travel Food Services (TFS) to set up an advanced AI-based intelligent hydration system at airport lounges and Fairmont Jaipur to curb plastic waste from water bottles.
