Siddharth Rao, the founder of digital agency Webchutney, has partnered with serial entrepreneur, Madhu Sudan to launch Punt Partners. This marketing technology (MarTech) start-up aims to tap the $100 billion opportunity in the sector.
According to a report by The Economic Times, Rao and Sudan are currently bankrolling the venture and are in talks with investors to raise seed funding. The company, which will be headquartered in Bengaluru, also has plans to open its first data center in the city.
It plans to expand its team by onboarding 30 more members and entering into key partnerships with other MarTech players over the next few months. The founders of the team will be present in Delhi and Mumbai.
Rao founded Webchutney in 1999, which was later acquired by Japanese multinational media network Dentsu in 2013. In 2021, Rao was elevated to the head of the India unit of DentsuMB.
With Punt Partners, Rao and Sudan are aiming to provide services to clients across North America, the UK, and the Middle East. The company aims to utilize new-age SaaS technology and large cloud platforms such as Google, Adobe and Salesforce to help clients with sales and marketing.
