Invact Metaversity, a 3D immersive virtual learning platform, announced its 10-week Finance Equity Research programme for aspiring finance professionals, starting August 15. The start-up seeks to revolutionise education and employability through a metaverse university.

Invact Metaversity's approach is based on its thesis that engineering the social serendipity of a classroom coupled with application-focused knowledge results in more substantial long-term learning outcomes. The platform's inaugural finance course will be delivered to students in an immersive metaverse environment to enable peer-to-peer learning, personalised feedback mechanisms and a structured system to build job-ready skillsets.

In addition, students will be able to showcase their employable skills by building and publishing their proof-of-work portfolios. In the long term, the start-up envisions multiple educational worlds built on its platform, with creator and teacher-led universities focused on different knowledge streams.

Invact Metaversity's first course focused on equity research will meet the needs of students, MBAs, finance professionals, aspiring business leaders and finance enthusiasts. A team of subject matter experts designed and will deliver the part-time course, which will run over two to three months.

The programme includes 10 hours of coursework, group discussions and weekly feedback, allowing working professionals to pursue the upskilling course alongside their existing jobs. In addition to the core course, it will also coach students on their business communication skills and prepare them for job interviews.

Announcing the launch, Tanay Pratap, founder and CEO of Invact Metaversity, believed that metaverse and education make symbiotic sense to deliver high-quality and affordable learning outcomes at scale. In addition to the many job vacancies in the private sector, much work is being outsourced to India. However, employers still struggle to find qualified candidates.

"India will become the knowledge hub of the 21st century, and to realise that dream, we must prepare thousands of students with proper mentorship for job placements. Moreover, since it is difficult to scale physical infrastructure quickly, virtual colleges in the metaverse are the answer. With Invact's metaverse platform, the virtual university is taking every measure to support job-ready education programs for students from all walks of life," he added.

Former Twitter India chief Manish Maheshwari co-founded Invact Metaversity with Pratap last October, but he quit this year. The edtech raised $5 million in February in a funding round led by Arkam Ventures and investors including Antler India, Picus Capital, M Venture Partners, BECO Capital and 2amVC, who valued the start-up at $33 million.
