Edtech start-up, TeamLease EdTech, has entered into a partnership with PeopleCert to deliver professional management knowledge and skills to companies and universities.

The partnership includes training and certification in the ITIL 4 (information technology infrastructure library) IT management and PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments). It also aims to upskill the Indian workforce to meet high-speed growth in information technology (IT) and industry.

PeopleCert assesses and certifies professional skills claiming to be a global leader in exam and certification management and delivery. It partners with organisations and government bodies to certify individuals across a product portfolio of 700 market-leading certifications in IT and digital transformation, project management, business and languages.

ITIL 4 and PRINCE2, originally developed by the UK government to improve performance in IT services and project management, are part of the PeopleCert portfolio of practices.

“With the breakneck pace of growth in the IT industry, businesses are starved for talent, and there is a rush to hire the most skilled people. Training in best practices – such as ITIL and PRINCE2 – ensures people’s skills stay relevant and are highly productive. Well-trained employees are easier to transfer into different job roles and disciplines,” said Jaideep Kewalramani, chief operating officer (COO), TeamLease EdTech.

Based in Mumbai, TeamLease EdTech claims to offer learning solutions to Indian corporates and universities for a decade, covering more than 5,00,000 students and partnerships with 40 universities across 16 states. Moreover, it supports 5000 corporate’ skills initiatives and degree apprenticeships.

“Corporates are demanding a skilled talent pool, so ITIL and PRINCE2 help in meeting the demand, giving them scale and value that helps them to serve their customers, including the needs of international corporations,” Kewalramani added.

“As organisations worldwide are facing significant challenges in digital transformation, Indian IT companies can respond by ensuring the entire talent pool is enabled to help their customers in their journey through using ITIL and PRINCE2 among others, said Vivek Joseph, business development head – APAC, PeopleCert .
