Moradabad-based smart parking start-up  ParkMate has launched FASTag-enabled smart parking with the help of Lucknow Nagar Nigam in Uttar  Pradesh. The company has plans to automate the major parking areas in  Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming years.

ParkMate’s smart parking facility eyes to solve the problem of haphazard and illegal parking, which will eventually ease traffic congestion and will provide easier access for customers to the major markets. The company is hopeful that this will generate more economic opportunities for the cities.

ParkMate claims to provide a seamless parking experience for users, city administrations and businesses. Its application is expected to benefit the citizens of UP to search and visit parking lots. users can also get their cars picked up and dropped off at the location of their choice with the app.

The company has claimed to introduce the DROP & SHOP service, which allows users to enter their parking location, where a valet will pick up the car and park it in a nearby authorized parking lot. ParkMate’s three-tier Trishool system offers an integration of the FASTag + ANPR +UniPay system which uses HD cameras, an inbuilt controller, and its in-house software to automatically scan licence plates and permit/log vehicle entry.

Addressing the latest development, Dhananjaya Bharadwaj, the co-founder and CEO (chief executive officer) of ParkMate, said, “Traffic congestion costs the four major cities of India an economic loss of Rs 1.4 lakh crore annually. More than 25 per cent of traffic congestion happens due to parking congestion. Finding a parking space is getting more and more challenging with the increasing number of vehicles on the road. Despite this, most multilevel car parking in India are hardly working operating on their 30-50 per cent occupancy. Whereas, surface parking is over-occupied.”

“ParkMate’s services aim to solve all these problems. In an attempt to end the culture of haphazard parking of vehicles, we have come up with sophisticated solutions that address all these concerns. We are glad that Uttar Pradesh’s government has given us a chance to showcase our services. This will further strengthen the prime minister’s vision of smart cities and digital India. Also, ParkMate services are paperless, making us the most eco-friendly and the only paperless parking company in India.,” he added.
