TeamOhana, a strategic headcount management firm, has reportedly raised $4 million in a seed funding round led by Sierra Ventures.

According to Entrackr, the round also witnessed participation from Katalyst Ventures, Notion COO Akshay Kothari, Airbase founder Thejo Kote, Phenom co-founder and chief people officer Brad Goldoor, Aurora Solar co-founder Samuel Adeyemo, Observe.ai co-founder Sharath Narayana, Skyflow co-founder Anshu Sharma and Sila co-founder Shamir Karkal among several others.

Founded in 2021 by Tushar Makhija and Baishampayan Ghose, the company tackles headcount planning and management issues by providing a collaborative platform to streamline all HR processes.

The HR management firm, which operates remotely, is expected to utilise the funds to expand its workforce and scale up its product range. Presently, their workforce mainly operates from India, with only four employees working from other locations in the US, Europe, Asia and Africa.

With products like employee lifecycle management and compensation management in its pipeline, TeamOhana seeks to disrupt the HR Tech market, which is projected to be worth over $38 billion by 2030. The company, whose revenue grew 400 per cent in the last quarter alone, has notable names like Modern Treasury, Docker, Postman and Newsela in its clientele.
As per the report in Entrackr, Ghose said, "We are planning to expand the product, design, and engineering team in India in the coming year. We already have a business development team in India, and we will continue to invest in that further."
