SuperBottoms, a sustainable baby and mom care brand has raised $5 million in its recent series A1 funding round led by Lok Capital and Sharrp Ventures. This round also marked the third investment of DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital in the start-up.

This funding will enable the company to expand its product category and grow offline. With a strategic vision to establish cloth diapering as a preferred choice, SuperBottoms aims for a diverse portfolio that appeals to a broader audience.

Concurrently, it is extending its physical presence to forge connections with customers to foster holistic, sustainable growth.

Commenting on the investment, Pallavi Utagi, founder of SuperBottoms, said, "With the funds raised, we aim to drive initiatives that spread awareness about cloth diapering to a wider audience throughout the country. We are thrilled to join forces with consumer-oriented investors like Lok Capital, Sharrp Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners, and Saama Capital as we expand our reach and strengthen our commitment to creating a robust brand for children."

Speaking about betting big on SuperBottoms, Venky Natarajan, managing partner at Lok Capital, said, "Pallavi's journey, born out of a real personal need as a new mother, is inspiring. The company has scaled remarkably while upholding its commitment to sustainability and empathising with its audience. SuperBottoms' innovative approach to eco-friendly baby products has resonated deeply with consumers, and their dedication to quality and environmental responsibility stands out. We look forward to being a part of this journey, supporting SuperBottoms as they continue to redefine this market and pave the way for a greener future in childcare."

Echoing the same, Rishabh Mariwala of Sharrp Ventures commented, "As a strong believer in building a sustainable planet, I seeSuperBottoms as a business that can truly make a difference while also building a viable business that solves real consumer problems. We are excited to be a part of their journey of changing the world, one cloth diaper at a time."

Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt recently got associated with the brand as its ambassador and investor.

Founded in 2016 by Utagi, SuperBottoms presents a sustainable and thoughtful approach to baby and mom care. Its product lineup includes UNO cloth diaper cotton langots, potty training pants and kid's clothing. Run by a core team of parents, 90 per cent of whom are mothers, it claims to have 20 lakh parents as its clients.

Expanding its horizons beyond traditional baby care, the company recently introduced the MaxAbsorb Period Underwear, providing a safe and conscious alternative to conventional plastic-based period care products.
