The nation is praying for India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who was seriously injured in a car accident in Dehradun and was admitted to the city's Max Hospital at 6 am today. He was driving to Roorkee in Uttarakhand when his Mercedes sedan crashed into a road divider on the Roorkee-Narsan border close to Hammadpur Jhal. 

Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar stated that the 25-year-old cricketer escaped the wreckage after breaking the car's windscreen but suffered injuries to his head, back and feet. He is currently undergoing a series of scans to determine the severity of his wounds so that doctors can start appropriate medical care.

Earlier this year, the young cricketer sang his way into controversy after appearing in a Dream 11 advertisement. In the ad, he was shown as a failed classical singer had he not stuck to his choice to pursue cricket. "Thank God, I followed my dream," Rishabh Pant says in the advertisement while promoting the fantasy cricket app.

Soon, Pant received backlash from several Indian musicians for his appearance, claiming that he was mocking the country's classical music, which has a rich heritage. He soon took down the video of the ad from his social media handles.

Fans and industry stakeholders shared their prayers on social media, wishing the cricketer a speedy recovery. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah tweeted, "I have spoken to his family and the doctors treating him. Rishabh is stable and undergoing scans. We are closely monitoring his progress and will provide him with all the necessary support."

Former India opener Virender Sehwag tweeted, "Wishing dear @RishabhPant17 a super speedy recovery. Bahut hi Jald swasth ho jaao,".

At the same time, VVS Laxman wrote, "Praying for Rishabh Pant. Thankfully he is out of danger. Wishing @RishabhPant17 a very speedy recovery. Get well soon Champ".

Fellow cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Anil Kumble as well as former Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting also messaged their wishes for his speedy recovery. 

Pant's team, the Delhi Capitals also shared a heartfelt note for their skipper.
