Impresario Entertainment and Hospitality, which owns food and beverages brands including SOCIAL, Smoke House Deli, Slink & Bardot, Prithvi Café and BOSS Burger, has appointed Ranveer Sabhani as its new Chief Business Officer.

In this role, he will be responsible for scaling the company’s business and leading its expansion into newer markets. He will be jointly steering the ship with the core leadership team at Impresario, led by managing director Riyaaz Amlani, chief executive officer Mayank Bhatt, and executive director Arshad Syed.

With over 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Ranveer joined Impresario in 2016 and has been leading the South India Business for the past six years. He has been at the forefront of heading the portfolio of over ten outlets with a team of over 500 personnel with diverse skills.

Before his stint with Impresario, Ranveer worked with prominent players in the restaurant industry, namely The Oberoi Group and the Taj Group, among others.

Expressing enthusiasm on his new role, Sabhani said, “My journey as Business Head for South India has been incredibly rewarding, and I'm eager to apply the knowledge and experience gained in this new, expanded capacity. Impresario is known for its commitment to consumer-first brand excellence and memorable experiences. I'm eager to lead the charge in furthering our growth and innovation on a broader scale.”

Mayank Bhatt added, “Ranveer has been a devoted hotelier and a key asset to the team, sharing immense passion for the growth of Impresario’s brands. We believe in his vision to scale our flagship brands – SOCIAL, Smoke House Deli, and BOSS Burger – across newer regions in India, tapping newer audiences and inspiring the people-first culture across our organisation.”

Impresario was founded in 2001 with its maiden venture Mocha – Coffees and Conversations. Today, it boasts a network of over 60 restaurants across 15 Indian cities. Its umbrella brands include scaled brands such as SOCIAL, Smoke House Deli, and Mocha, as well as boutique one-offs such as Slink & Bardot and Prithvi Café. It also owns and operates dark kitchen brands like BOSS Burger and Lucknowee.

Last November, investment platform India Resurgence Fund (IRF) invested Rs 550 crore ($66.5 million) in Impresario Entertainment and Hospitality. Piramal Enterprises Ltd and global private equity major Bain Capital back this fund.

With this capital infusion, IRF became the largest shareholder of Impresario Entertainment. Private equity firm L Catterton, which earlier backed the company, exited its five-year-long investment.
