Leo Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm, has appointed Harish Kumar to lead its strategic corporate development efforts, primarily advising the firm’s portfolio start-ups on bolstering financial reporting and analysis, investor positioning, and fundraising strategies.

Harish will also be a contributor to Leo Capital’s capital formation activities for Fund III, as well as its upcoming funds. Additionally, owing to his expertise as a seasoned corporate finance practitioner, he will also work closely with the Firm’s leadership and fund management team to build other potential fund strategies.

Prior to joining Leo Capital, Harish was Head of Credit Suisse’s Technology, Media and Telecoms Investment Banking Division for South East Asia. Prior to Credit Suisse, he was the Head of Corporate Finance - South East Asia, for UBS’ Global Wealth Management Division.

Speaking on his appointment, Harish Kumar said, “Having known Leo Capital’s team since the launch of its first fund, I have been a staunch supporter of the Firm. I consider myself privileged to be able to play a more active role in the development of a team that I consider to be extremely competent at what it does. I am highly motivated to help founders navigate in today’s complex fundraising environment, and assist them in building the foundations of world-class industry-defining organisations for the future.”

Commenting on Harish’s appointment at Leo Capital, the firm’s Co-founder Shwetank Verma said, “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Harish to our leadership team.  He comes with an unparalleled expertise in corporate finance, and with strategic relationships with key stakeholders across regions and industries. As we continue to build a robust pipeline of promising tech-driven ventures across South East Asia and the US, he will be an invaluable asset to Leo Capital’s corporate development efforts for its portfolio companies.”
